Updated blog design

It's been such a long time since I have done a proper redesign of this site. After some thinking and tinkering with CSS for about a day, the final design is done. With the help and ideas from Sally, the redesign was much better than I had hoped. The thing I like about this new design is that in Firefox it will scale nicely when increasing and decreasing the text size. It doesn't work that properly with Internet Explorer, I am not sure why but I am a bit lazy to fix it at the moment.
For this redesign, I used all open source/free tools to help me:
- GVim for editing the HTML templates and CSS files
- GIMP 2 for the graphics
- FileZilla for FTP
- Web Developer Extension for Firefox to debug DOM/CSS issues
Unfortunately, I was running all these on Windows, but only because I wanted the convenience of testing on Internet Explorer and Firefox. But I could use yjpark's suggestion to install Internet Explorer on Linux with WINE or use VMPlayer to run Windows with Internet Explorer. But anyway, its done and I am happy with the results!
One last thing to note, one of the most important thing I realised was using the right fonts. I am using Georgia, which kinda look pretty nice. So for those machines without this font, they will be seeing Times New Roman. Hmmm, I wonder how that would look?
